A throwback..2002

It's crazy to see how things have changed in the past 6 years. Not only have the cars changed drastically with more outreagous body kits, wings, lights, wheels, ect but before they are much smoother, yet lack the angle we see today. It really amazes me how much it resembles skateboarding, and snowboarding. At first the boards were basic and an ollie was an advanced trick, and now we have 900's and rodeo's.

I wonder where drifting will go next, some of my optomistic "realistic" predictions:

1. Formula D will get gayer, cars will be higher and uglier and drivers more concerned with sponsor money than anything else.

2. A ton of mini competetions will start to open up. In skateboarding and snowboarding there isn't one series to compete in, there are ton's of different events, all with differerent rules and participants.

3. Drivers can make a career/living on street driving and small events. With the "coolness" factor of drifting it will gain more popularity and be a larger market demographic. Sponsors will see this and pay for things like videos and competetion payouts.

4. Going on from #3, there will be a lot more drift videos (which will help pay the athletes). There are already 2 dvd's from drift alliance, and T2 Films has another bad ass video coming out...both are extremely skate/bmx like.

5. There will be a "Tony Hawk" of drifting. My best guess...JR

6. From #5...a good drifting video game :-)

7. Drifting will be in the x-games

8. Risky Devil will dominate all automotive sports

I agree!

Although, I don't really think FD is going to be around for a while.
